Step-by-Step Guide

Planning to take HSK test? Read this step-by step guide to register HSK test online.

1. Official Site
Go to the official HSK test website www.chinesetest.cn. Select the language option on top right bar.

2. User Registration
Click on new user to register for an user of the website, keep a note of your user name and password. Fill in your personal details such as email address, nationality, date of birth, native language, etc.

3. Test Registration
Select the level (1 up to 6), form (paper-based or Internet based test), and pick a test center and test date. Some centers only arrange Internet based tests, if you are looking for paper based test, be sure to check the details of your center to find out whether they offer this option.

4. Upload Photo
Upload a standard two inch ID photo in JPG format (maximum size 100kb). If you register and choose to take the test at the test centers in mainland China, submit a digital-formatted photo as required. If your photo does not meet the requirements, you will not be able to proceed with registration.

5. Confirm
Verify the information you submitted and click on “Confirm and Submit”.

6. Pay Test Fee
Make sure to complete your payment before the registration deadline; otherwise the registration is invalid. Once you have paid the test fee, the test cannot be cancelled. With test centers offering online payment options, you will be directed to payment page following the steps.

7. Check Confirmation Email
After you compete the registration and payment, you will receive a registration confirmation in your email 10 days before the test. If you don’t receive the confirmation, contact the test site immediately.

8. Collect/Print Test Admission
You may either log into the official site and print your test admission there or collect it at the test center. On the test date, you must bring and present your test admission along with a valid ID.

Note
Some test centers do not offer online registration option, and you must go to the test center to complete registration and payment offline.
